Slightly over ten years after starting her first band, Becky Alter has traveled tens of thousands of miles, performing in 6 countries, playing dive bars to some of the most beautiful venues in the world as a solo artist, as well as with a full band. Hailing from the mountains of Colorado, she is back on the road again after her recent tour in the Caribbean, to return to the US, Netherlands, Belgium, and the UK for winter 2009/ 2010. During this tour, Becky is playing shows at major clubs, as well as smaller, more intimate venues to showcase the versatility of her writing styles. Most recently, Becky Alter performed her new Tour Title Track, “Drink it Up” on one of Holland’s biggest Live National Radio Show Broadcasts: (Radio 2 Netherlands) Tros Muziekcafe. With the release of five very different and eclectic albums over the last four years, Becky Alter’s music appeals to an extremely wide range of listeners. Becky’s songs are simultaneously complex and simple. A blend of Blues Rock, Pop, and moody Alternative Folk/Country, her sound has been described in the US Press as, “Melissa Etheridge getting bitch-slapped by Dolly Parton.” Her live shows consist of at least 50% original music, and cover songs ranging from Janis Joplin and The Beatles, to Nirvana. Becky Alter’s dream is simple: to write great songs and share them with the world.
