A tenth generation Mormon. Sister Dottie is happily married to Donald D. Dixon (Don) for over 35 years overta the Provo, Temple. They are the proud parents of a gay son, Donnie P. Dixon. She's a good-will ambassador for all organizations that advocate for human equality. Past-president of the Spanish Fork PFLAG, and member of the Greater Utah County PFLAG organization. Lifetime Member of the D.U.P. and regular contributing writer for Wasatch Woman. Full-time temple recommend holder (but currently that's kinda on shaky ground).

Sister Dottie appears monthly on X-96’s Radio From Hell with Kerry, Bill & Gina, on The Painful Circle. Sister Dottie was named BEST UTAHAN by City Weekly Magazine in 2010, "A One Woman Artistic Force" by Salt Lake Magazine's BEST OF THE BEEHIVE 2010, and has been named Best Actor for THE PASSION OF SISTER DOTTIE S. DIXON by City Weekly, The Deseret News, Q-Salt Lake's Fabby Awards, and was named Civic Leader of the Year and Outstanding Civic Leader by Salty Gossip's--SALTY AWARDS two years running. She was awarded The Humanitarian Award by the Royal Court of the Golden Spike Empire as well. Sister Dottie was Grand Marshal for The Utah Pride Festival 2010.
